On April 19, 2019 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov met with the Ambassadors of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries accredited in Moscow.

The focus of the meeting was on the practical measures to implement the decision of the 3rd Russia-ASEAN Summit (Singapore, November 2018) for the development of the Russian-ASEAN Strategic Partnership. The Minister noted the contribution of the ASEAN Moscow Committee to the promotion of ASEAN-Russia cooperation in the political, economic and cultural fields.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the coordination at international platforms, primarily in the UN, continuing dialogue on the modernization of security and cooperation architecture in the Asia-Pacific, conjugation of regional integration processes and expansion of contacts between the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Economic Union, Shanghai Cooperation Organization and ASEAN in line with the Russian initiative to build the Greater Eurasian Partnership.

The key global and regional issues were also discussed.
